Meet Juan Alarcon, PA-C

Juan Alarcon, PA-C

I grew up in the Central Valley of California, surrounded by crop fields and farmland. My parents immigrated from Mexico and have worked in the fields their entire lives. It was their hard work that allowed me to pursue a higher education.

I am a first-generation college graduate. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from UCLA and later completed my Master of Medical Science at Northwestern University. After obtaining my Physician Assistant license, I returned to the Central Valley and worked as a PA in Family Medicine for one year. I loved my work and providing care to a predominantly Spanish-speaking population in their native language.

However, my passion in medicine has always been cardiology. Prior to PA school, I worked as a medical scribe in a cardiology clinic for over two years. I assisted several cardiologists with documentation, ordering labs and imaging studies, and scheduling procedures such as angiograms, pacemaker insertions and battery replacements, and TAVRs. It was there that my passion for cardiology began, and it continued to grow during PA school, where I completed two cardiology rotations: one inpatient at Lakeview Hospital and another outpatient at Northwestern Hospital clinic.

Now that my wife and I have moved to the Inland Empire, I was given the opportunity to pursue a career in cardiology at ACV. I plan to take full advantage of this opportunity to provide the best possible care to all of our patients.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, as well as our cat, Kiki.
